It’s the gem of a foodie. As you might as well know, buffet restaurants which have been cropping all over Metro Manila these days, offer a number of international cuisines and various amounts of dishes to choose from. Among these include Asian, Continental, Korean, Japanese and a host of other celebrated fare from all over the world. But do you know that there are already a couple of dining places in the metropolis riding the hype of these buffet restaurants?

These, and so much more, have already transcended from going set menu to “eat-all-you-can”.

 

 

Café Juanita

It’s a different world when you enter Café Juanita. The Persian rugs and drapes, the Asian-inspired chandeliers and the eclectic mix of furniture scattered all over the place are indeed a stark example of different nations fused together. With showers of various colors and hues and the soothing music of a live pianist permeating throughout the whole atmosphere, you can be sure of a lively experience dining here.

When it comes to food, aside from the ever famous sinigang na corned beef, Café Juanita also gives ardent clients a taste of its own festive Filipino buffet. In its line-up include fried tilapia, lechon kawali, lumpiang shanghai, fried pork belly (lechon kawali), kare-kare, pork adobo, adobong pusit, fried and fresh lumpia, chicken inasal, pansit, among many others. Howzat Sports Bar

Howzat Sports Bar is known for its bustle and hustle of customers and servers cheering for their favorite teams and players onscreen. Just like its namesake, it’s a sports bar which caters to mostly expats from the Makati area but you can still order some good food and some local beers here.

Although the main attractions of Howzat are its huge TV screen that showcases sports programs and important sporting events from all over the world (such as the FIFA World Cup and the UFC Championship), the food is also one of its most sought-after. The Indian Curry Buffet which has three stations – the Main Buffet Station, the Salad Station, and the Soup, Naan, and Samosa Station – offers a delight for those who want it hot and spicy.

Get the Tom Yam soup, the samosas and the papadums with freshly-rolled naans (which are pan grilled and served with butter) and curry. Also included in the menu are the Tandoori Chicken, the Lamb Curry, Palak Paneer, Potato Keema, Fish Curry and the Chicken Vindaloo. For desserts, check out the Mango Cheesecake.

Tapeo Tapas and Wine Bar

Tapeo Tapas and Wine Bar may seem like just your ordinary Spanish restaurant at the heart of the Fort Strip in Taguig City. Its high chairs and wood furniture – plus a celebrated Spanish acoustic guitar and a flamenco performance every Wednesday nights – speak volumes of a lively and eminent European atmosphere. When you want to taste some sampler dishes straight from the Land Down Under (for which this restaurant was named), then you better head on to Kangaroo Jack as the place offers you delectable steaks that include rib-eye, tenderloin, sizzling and T-bone. Aside from these mouth-watering and sumptuous meats, Kangaroo Jack also offers pizzas and burgers, and Mexican food such as quesadillas and nachos.

Alfredo’s located at Tomas Morato is an ideal place for a romantic tryst, especially because it has a semi-fine dining environment with a fireplace and a ceiling designed with rustic woodwork. Various paintings and photographs hung on the walls, signifying a stark importance of old history and nations.

The restaurant offers an ala carte menu for those who can’t wait to dive on their steaks and all kinds of meat. But however you want your beef to be, Alfredo’s gives you an all-you-can-eat buffet with different kinds of meat to choose from. Simply work from the side dishes and make your way up to star of your buffet, the roast beef which are offered in two different slices: tender and a thicker cut. It also had a section for soup and the salads, mashed potatoes, buttered vegetables, and the rice. For desserts, grab the éclair and the sans rival. The buffet also comes with a fresh bread basket.
